September 2023 Party Day
Another great day at the Club today. It was September Party Day 4’s. President Margaret thanked the generous sponsors APIA in supporting the day. Donna was on hand to help present the prizes to the winners. A fabulous morning tea and lunch was served to visitors and members. Congratulations everyone, a very successful day.

President Laraine’s Appreciation Day 2023
It was President Appreciation Day for Laraine Stenzel on Monday 24th July. It was a chance for members and visitors to say “Thank you” to Laraine for all her hard work and dedication to the Club over the past year. President Elect Margaret Martin’s Party Day 4’s
Monday 26th June was President Elect Margaret Martin’s Party Day 4’s. What a brilliant day for bowling. After a delicious morning tea, including scones and cakes, bowlers headed to the greens for fierce competition. Afterwards they were rewarded with a hot lunch followed by Margaret’s famous sticky date pudding. Thank you to our tireless kitchen workers.

Ladies Invitation Pairs Day – Monday 1 May 2023
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a brilliant day. The greens were filled to capacity and the sun shone brightly. 32 teams participated in the competition – it certainly was a sight to see – with all the different coloured bowls and uniforms. Teams travelled from Toowoomba, Victoria Point, Salisbury, Algester, Jindalee, Warwick, Darra, Laidley and Corinda as well as local teams from United and North Ipswich. Ipswich members, both men and women, should be commended on their efforts in ensuring that the day ran smoothly – our greenkeepers, umpires, scorers, kitchen workers, raffle sellers, barman, those who set up, those who baked goodies – Thank you to everyone who contributed in one way or another to make this day such a great success!

Dress Up Party Day – held Monday 28th November 2022
Great bowls, fabulous food, creative costumes and lots of laughs. What a beautiful day for a game of bowls. A great way to celebrate Rhonda’s successful year as Lady President. The day was sponsored by Paul Grantham Property & Imports. March 2022 Party Day
On Monday 28th March “A Day for Dorelle” was held. The Bailey family sponsored the event and joined us for lunch and helped present the prizes. As the play was limited to just 2 ends, Lucky players were drawn for the prizes. A big thank you to all who remained at the Club for the early lunch. Can just hear Dorelle saying “Wouldn’t you know it would rain” – a lovely lady with a great sense of humour.
Many memories of the time Dorelle spent with the ladies were shared. Her friendship and her sense of humour were recalled my many.

90th Birthday
On 9th March a special birthday party was held for our Patron Hazel – It was Hazel’s 90th Birthday and the members were on hand to help her celebrate. A beautiful lunch was served, followed by a decorative birthday cake. Sylvia presented Hazel with a lovely bunch of flowers. Ladies Break Up Day – 9th December 2020
The ladies Xmas Break Up Day was held on Wednesday the 9th. Members enjoyed a game of “fun” bowls, then headed to the air conditioned club house. Everyone participated in some more games, including Charades, which was very entertaining. There was some great raffle prizes and also a Secret Santa for all. Special Celebration – 30th September 2020
The ladies held a special day to recognize all the members who had a significant “0” birthday during the pandemic shutdown. The day was sponsored by Carmel Abraham. Carmel has been a member of Ipswich Bowls Club for 40 years. For most of this time Carmel has held many committee positions and is a most valued member, always willing to offer a helping hand. At the ladies AGM on Wednesday 26th August, 2020 Senior Vice President Laraine Stenzel made a presentation to President Pauline Freed, in Appreciation of Pauline’s hard work and commitment to the Ladies club over the last year. Australia Day Party Day – Monday 27th January 2020
Many members and visitors donned their Australiana gear and participated in this fun filled day to celebrate our great nation.
The ladies in the kitchen served a delicious morning tea of scones and lamingtons. Lunch was meat pies, potato and mushy peas, followed by a scrumptious dessert of pavlova and fruit salad.
The day was sponsored by Niagara Therapy and Heather Marshall was on hand to help present the prizes to the winners.

On Wednesday 4th December the Ladies section held a Party Day in honour of Jean Bell’s 100th Birthday. WOW! What a day that was! After a beautiful morning tea, there was a game of bowls, followed by lunch and presentations. The channel 7 news crew were there to capture the special moments. Teams attended from as far as Broadbeach, Brisbane and surrounding areas. The Cunningham District and Bowls Queensland made presentations to Jean and the local politicians were there to honour Jean as well. Congratulatory messages from the Premier, Prime Minister, Governor, Governor General and Her Majesty, the Queen were on display. Happy 100th Birthday, Jean!
